91st Oscar Nominations, Close Fight Between 'Roma' and 'The Favourite'

The nomination list for the 91st Academy Award has just been published. ‘Roma’ and ‘The Favourite’ facing a tight battle this time. Including the best film’s category, both films grabbed 10 nominations each. Along with these two, ‘Black Panther’, ‘BlacKkKlansman’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘A Star Is Born’, ‘Vice’ and ‘Green Book’ are also running for Best Film’s Oscar trophy.

Roma (2018)

The biggest surprise of this year’s Academy Award is undoubtedly Lady Gaga’s nomination in Best Actress category. The American pop star has been nominated for the movie ‘A Star Is Born’. Glenn Close has been nominated for seventh time this year for ‘The Wife’. The other nominees of this category are Olivia Colman (The Favourite), Yalitza Aparicio (Roma) and Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?).

The Favourite (2018)

For the Best Actor’s award, Christian Bale as former vice-president Dick Cheney (Vice), Rami Malek as Queen band’s vocal Freddie Mercury (Bohemian Rhapsody), Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born), Willem Dafoe as painter Vincent Van Gogh (At Eternity’s Gate) and Viggo Mortensen (Green Book) are in the race.
